- Savannah's lovely, evocative Spanish moss isn't actually a moss at all. A close cousin of the PINEAPPLE(!), Spanish moss is an epiphyte, a plant that absorbs water and nutrients from the air.
- Savannah has been home to many notable residents including Juliette Gordon Low, founder of the Girl Scouts of the USA, novelist Flannery O'Connor, and musicians Gregg Allman, and Johnny Mercer.
- Spooky fact: There are only 612 tombstones in in Colonial Park Cemetary but almost 10,000 bodies!
